About our production of 13
Our production of the has been produced to give children who love to perform the opportunity to be on stage for free. We are especially interested in giving those young people unable to access theatre schools the opportunity to work with a creative team who want to see children from all walks of life work creatively together. Our ethos is to shape young people, and give them a chance to develop their talent, and experience working in a theatre company driven with purpose and excellence!
Who are we looking for
Boys and Girls who love to perform aged 11–18 to work alongside our professional creative team who for the past 30 years have trained performers who have gone on to work professionally! If you’ve got what it takes, register your interest now!
All those wishing to audition, must register via this website! Once we have received your application we will send you details of the auditions days we have available in your area. You then send back confirmation of which day you would like to audition!
At the Audition
Don’t panic if your child has never auditioned before, we will make the whole experience fun and put them at ease with our team who have loads of experience with young people and are all DBS checked. At least one licensed Chaperone will be on hand to answer questions. As it is the first time they come along, please stay at the venue during the auditions in case any of them need you at any time. They will be taught a basic dance and depending on time we would like to hear them sing, so if they have a favourite song it would be great for them to know it, however if they get stuck we get them to sing Happy Birthday! If they are successful after the first audition they will be invited back for a recall!
At the Recall
At the recalls we will teach another dance and ask those recalled to do some acting. After the recall we will then offer those successful a place in the show.
If you are selected to join the cast of 13 you will rehearse in the area where you auditioned. The rehearsal schedule will be sent to you via email. We regret that once committed to the show we will be unable to allow any absence during this time. All rehearsals are after school and at weekends in venues local to where you auditioned. Dates & times may vary depending on your role in the production.
Technical & Dress Rehearsals
Dates and timings vary according to the participant’s role in the production. However, to enable each and every cast member to perform on stage, all participants must attend the technical and dress rehearsals.
Once you have been cast, you will be put into teams and the days you will be performing in the show will be announced. Please do not book tickets for the show until you know which shows you will be performing in.
Media & Press Agreement
All participants must agree to appear in any media appearances, publicity appearances or photographs/videos at the Producer’s discretion.
